Eastern Carolina Community Foundation partners with donors to administer 12 scholarship funds for the benefit of students in the Pee Dee.
All scholarship opportunities are established through specific funds established at ECCF with criteria determined by the donor. In 2024, we awarded $44,000 to 24 students.
Apply NowThe Christine Sides Fisher Arts and Music Education Scholarship has been established by Christine and Tim Fisher in support of students who are seeking higher education in the field of performing arts and music education.
The fund provides up to a $10,000 4-year scholarship, awarded as a $2,500 multi-year* scholarship to a Florence 1 Schools student or alumni pursuing an education degree in the field of performing arts education.
Eligibility: Graduating senior or graduate from a FSD1 high school. Be accepted or enrolled in a performing arts education major at a South Carolina accredited institution of higher education - or - the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, with plans to become a band, orchestra, chorus, dance, or theatre teacher. *Must meet qualifications annually: Students will receive a $2,500 award in their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years of enrollment as long as proof of passing grades and enrollment in the performing arts department of the South Carolina educational institution or the University of North Carolina at Pembroke are submitted to Eastern Carolina Community Foundation by July 1 of each subsequent year.

The Craig Family Scholarship Fund supports the higher education goals of students graduating from Chesterfield High School in Chesterfield, South Carolina. The scholarship was originally created by descendants of the Craig Family with proceeds from the sale of farmland once worked by African American laborers in involuntary servitude.

Amount: $1,000
FBi Construction created a scholarship fund at ECCF in 2017 to encourage students to enter the construction industry. This interest stems from a strong belief in education and a commitment to improve the quality of life where they do business. This scholarship funding will improve the talent pool which maintains FBi’s commitment to excellence.
Eligibility: Applicants may be graduating high school seniors or returning post-secondary students at a technical school, college or university, or someone continuing education after time spent in the workforce. Applicants must be from Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion, Marlboro, or Williamsburg County - AND - are pursuing a career in a construction related industry
Amount: $1,000
The scholarship will keep Jason’s swimming goals and dreams alive while helping students pursue their own college swimming and academic goals.
Eligibility: Graduating senior from a high school in the following counties: Sumter, Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion, Marlboro, or Williamsburg - AND - swim at the college level on a college team
Amount: $1,000
This scholarship has been established by Mrs. Johnson’s family to honor her commitment to education, arts, athletics, and service and, to support the bright future of a Lake City High School graduate who exemplifies many of these same qualities. The goal in awarding this scholarship is to give the gift of education and support to a deserving, well rounded student in the Lake City, South Carolina area.
Eligibility: Graduating senior or alumni from Lake City High School
Amount: $5,000 up to four years
The annual scholarship award is to benefit a student seeking financial access to higher education at a two or four-year institution of higher education, or trade/vocational school.
The LHS Class of 1996 Journey Scholarship Fund is both a celebration of individual journeys and a tribute to classmates in whose memory this scholarship is dedicated.
Eligibility: Graduating senior from Latta High School (LHS) who has attended LHS for at least two years
Amount: $1,000
This fund provides a scholarship to a graduating Pee Dee area high school senior who plans to major in education and teach at the elementary level. The fund was established in memory of Michelle Yolanda Glenn Carey who dedicated twenty years to the teaching of kindergarten students at Theodore Lester Elementary School in Florence, South Carolina.
Eligibility: Graduating senior from a high school in the following counties: Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Georgetown, Horry, Marion, Marlboro, or Williamsburg - AND - a goal to pursue a degree in elementary education and teach in an elementary school

The fund seeks, in a small way, to acknowledge past racial inequities by offering an annual scholarship in perpetuity to a student who is a graduating senior at Pageland Central High School.

The Ra’Shaud J. Graham Scholarship Fund was lovingly established in 2021 by Ra’Shaud’s family and friends to preserve his legacy of leadership and community service in Lake City, South Carolina and beyond while providing financial support for a deserving graduating senior of a Lake City, South Carolina high school.
Eligibility: Graduating senior from a Lake City, SC area (FSD3) high school

In 2019, to commemorate its 25th anniversary, South East Express, Inc. in Timmonsville, SC, established a permanent endowed scholarship at Eastern Carolina Community Foundation. The award is designated for a graduating senior from Florence One High Schools in Florence County, SC where the company is located. In addition, South East Express also plans to sponsor a paid summer internship for the winning applicant to learn more about the company and how it impacts the quality of life in Florence County.
Eligibility: Graduating senior from a FSD1 high school - Timmonsville area preference
Amount: $1,500
This scholarship was established through the benevolence of Wilson Elementary School alumni and friends in memory of William Penn Harrison, a distinguished educator and principal of the school in Clarendon County. The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student based on academic achievement, leadership, work ethic, and demonstration of financial need.
Eligibility: Graduating senior from a Clarendon County High School - Wilson community resident or Wilson Elementary School student preference

Members of the Wilson High School Class of 1945 established the scholarship fund with the community foundation in 2014 to support graduating seniors at Wilson High School in Florence, SC. Their desire was to provide financial support to those seeking higher education while leaving a legacy.
